HumanOptics 1CU Accommodative lens The accommodative 1CU lens replaces the eye's natural crystalline lens with an artificial lens, which allows the patient to focus on both distant and near objects without the need for glasses.
This is achieved by specific mechanical properties which enable the lens to change optical power during the contraction of the ciliary muscle.
The 1CU is a one-piece lens made of hydrophilic acrylic with an ultraviolet inhibitor.
Clinical trials show this lens to be intraoperatively safe and have produced evidence of life-changing benefits to patients, who no longer have to put up with impaired or diminishing vision and are able to reduce their dependency on glasses.
